Bart's Bash

Briefing - 1545hrs

(N.B. There is no club race at 11am, despite what the programme might say!)

(Entry fee/donation £5 per Adult or £3 per Junior)

Only a few hours days left to enter on line - click here

UPDATE - 19th September (2 days to go)

A few final reminders: PLEASE register by close-of-play today (Friday).

There will be a briefing on Sunday at 1545hrs. Particularly important that competitors attend as the                                                         arrangements for the day may differ slightly from what we are used to.

Entries will close at 1600hrs.

The forecast is holding up - 6-9knts NE and 18deg C.

The prizes have arrived. We have, I kid you not, a three-figure prize fund (all to the left of the decimal point!). The ratio of prizes/per start will be determined by the number of registered entries at midnight on Friday. At the moment there will be far more Junior prizes than Cat prizes! As well as overall prizes there will be a number of 'spot' and 'category' prizes but you'll have to stay for the prize-giving to find out what they are.

PARENTAL CONSENT FORMS - Please see forum update

If any of you are media-savvy enough to send video into the Tweetosphere, please have a look at this link  - http://www.bartsbash.co.uk/barts-bash-live. Feel free to share the action with the rest of the World!

Volunteers to help on the day are still welcome, as are offers to use/lend Go Pro's. There should be enough wind to make the footage interesting.

Details of Post-Bash menu are now on the forum (see link below)

Welcome to the Starcross Yacht Club web site

Starcross Yacht Club is reputed to be one of the oldest sailing clubs in the British Isles, having been loosely formed to organise a sailing regatta all the way back in 1772. However, it is now a thoroughly go-ahead, modern and informal family club devoted to the pursuit of small boat sailing.  Originally situated in Starcross village, since 1957 the club has been based at our present location at Powderham Point on the west bank of the Exe Estuary, where we have all the facilities expected by keen sailors. There are excellent changing rooms and showers, plus launching and berthing facilities for sailing dinghies and catamarans.

Working party - 27th September

There's a working party on the SYC calendar for Saturday 27th September starting at 10:00. While nominally for those who partake of yacht cruising everyone is, of course, very welcome. The tasks and more details are on the poster but it is fair to say that "shingle shovelling" may feature predominantly so bring your wellies and wheel barrows.

f you feel like registering, then it will help to gauge the number of free "thank you" lunches that need to be provided but do feel free to just turn up on the day.

If you've no idea what's involved in an SYC working party here's a few photos from a previous one.
