The Dates .. .

Saturday 10th August to Tuesday 13th August 2024.

The 2024 Junior Regatta is currently in its planning stages. We'll put a message on the SYC website home page and message nearby clubs when we release event details on this page sometime in 2024. Meanwhile, here's a quick summary of what we did in 2023:

The Competitors .. .

All children from age 8 on April 1 to age 18 on 31 August, sailing a boat of PY 1136 and above (i.e. an Aero 5 and anything slower). Club boats were available for SYC members.

The Racing .. .

Was split into Gold and Silver fleets - the silver fleet had coaches in RIBs to provide support and encouragement for those new to racing. Click here to see the combined Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions 2023 to get an idea of what was involved.

The Extras .. .

It's not all about the racing! .Fun and games, on and off the water, were organised around the racing times. There were evening meals and entertainments for the Friday and Saturday evenings, with camping overnight available.

The Prizes .. .

Thanks to generous Sponsorship from Exe Sails and Covers, all entrants received a free event T-shirt. There were perpetual Trophies to win and prizes generously donated by our other Event Sponsors.

The Entry .. .

will open in summer 2024. Watch this space! In 2023 parents filled out a Google Form to secure a place for their child(ren). Places are limited. Entry in 2023 was £15 to Exe Estuary club members (including SYC), and £25 to visitors from further afield.
