SYC always welcomes new members and you don’t necessarily need to already have - or even buy - your own boat.
For more experienced sailors, the club maintains a small, varied fleet of dinghies that can be hired by members at very reasonable rates.

Changing your membership details
Please note that is very important that the Club maintains an up to date record of your e-mail address, because unless you have "opted out” of using the on line system, your membership renewal will be sent to this e-mail address every year.
Sign in to Web Collect here to check your email, address and contact numbers are current .
If you have forgotten your password use reset my password and a new one will be sent to the email account that you gave to SYC.
You can edit your information if incorrect but please remember to save changes.
In January, unless you have opted out as explained below, you will receive an e-mail from the club inviting you to renew your membership. This will contain a link that will direct you through the process of logging into WebCollect, checking (and optionally changing) your membership details, and a checkout process to make your payment.
If you have used WebCollect before, please login with your existing WebCollect Username (this will be the e-mail address the Club holds for you) and password. For those that have not used WebCollect before, the Club has set up an account for you and your Username and a default password are shown in your email. You can use the default password to sign into your account, but it is highly recommended that you reset your password before you log in for the first time. To do this click the Reset My Password button and follow the instructions.
Once logged in, you should be presented with a screen showing the subscriptions that you currently hold with the Club, for example a Family Membership and a Berth. If you wish to continue with your existing subscriptions, then all you need to do is to click Renew All and you will be taken through the checkout process. Alternatively, you can also add or change subscriptions from this screen. Select any subscriptions you still wish to renew then click buy a different subscription. Once you have selected everything you require and completed the appropriate forms, continue to the checkout.
During checkout, you will be asked to verify your personal details and you will then be presented with your Membership Form which should be checked and updated as required. For Family Memberships this will need to be completed for each Family Member. Please note that the form now also requires you to state how frequently each Member used the club in the last membership year before renewal. This is needed to enable the Club to show it is complying with HMRC rules for tax purposes. At the end of the checkout process, you will be asked to select your payment method. The Clubs preferred method is Bank Transfer (bank details are shown at checkout), please use this wherever possible, alternatively you can send a cheque to the Membership Secretary
Opting out of Web Collect
The club recognises however that not everyone likes to transact using the Internet. Please contact the Membership Secretary ASAP if you would prefer to "opt out" of using WebCollect, and continue to renew your membership through the post.
For members that have opted out, they will continue to receive their renewal forms by post. These will look slightly different from before, but the process will be the same. All they need to do is to check and return the forms to the membership secretary and make a payment in the same way they did before.
Any problems using the system please contact the Membership Secretary
