Wonderful sailing weather drew out a large number of Members on Sunday 11th, great to see. A huge entry for racing and many Free Sailing participants enjoyed the sunshine and a moderate breeze.
Unfortunately this led to an over-full car park with double parking in many places. Partly, this was due to poorly-parked craft and other hindrances close to the rear boundary fence and a number of boat trailers taking up unnecessary space. In addition two rogue visitors, a RIB on a trailer and a large RIB trailer, have been parked without permission from the Berth Marshal. These are taking up valuable car parking spaces and must be removed.
We appreciate that due to the conditions imposed by COVID-19, car sharing is not being utilised like it was in the past so the volume of vehicles is greater. There are also many more active members.
An après-lockdown work party is being organised for this coming Saturday to clear and tidy up the site to make more parking spaces available. We are also trying hard to finalise arrangements with our landlord’s agent for official ownership of the external park area. If you can spare some time on Saturday please come along – there is plenty to do! See the Forum for details.
In the meantime, if these items are owned by you or someone you know, please inform Steve Peat on 07854 999498.
