Who is this for?
Sailors with skills equivalent to RYA Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 4 or RYA National Sailing Scheme Levels 2 or 3. It is recommended you also have skills equivalent to RYA Seamanship Skills obtained in tidal waters.
Course outline
This course complements your more advanced seamanship skills to explore coastal areas independently. The course develops your passage-planning and decision-making skills for small-boat cruising and introduces essential safety issues, basic pilotage and handling windy conditions. By the end of the course you will be a more confident sailor with the skills to cruise your dinghy on the Exe Estuary (and similar areas) and along the coast.
