Course outline
This course builds on the introduction to pilotage taught on RYA Youth Sailing and National Sailing Schemes and Powerboat Level 2 courses. This informative course covers a wide range of topics including charts and publications, safety, engine checks, buoyage, tidal awareness, visual and electronic navigation, pilotage, rules of the road, anchoring, weather forecasts and passage planning. By the end of the course you will have a sound understanding of essential navigation and safety to use on and around the Exe Estuary and similar areas.
