See it, say it, sorted!

Or perhaps, more accurately:
"See it, photo it, describe it and wait for it to be sorted".

The SYC fault repairerNah - not quite as snappy.

OK - just what am I on about? Well, a few years ago, a previous SYC commodore and rear commodore asked for an "app" on the SYC website that would allow the raising and tracking of faults and problems at SYC. Such things as

  • faults with the SYC hire boats
  • problems in the SYC clubhouse, race box or changing rooms
  • problems in the SYC grounds

This article is to remind SYC members of what SYC Faults app does. In summary:

  • Anyone can raise a fault via the SYC website - whether they are logged on to the SYC website or not but the functionality is much richer if you are logged on
  • When a new fault is raised an email gets sent to a select set of SYC Fault Admins for one of them to decide how best to progress with the fault. The fault will be "assigned" to the club member they think might best be able to help
  • Updates to the fault are recorded as it is progressed until the fault is finally closed as fixed.
  • SYC members who are logged on to the website can see the status of all reported faults and "opt in" to be notified when there are updates to a fault they are interested in

That's about it - but it has some nice features including the ability, if logged on to the website, to upload photos of the problem to help those who will be trying to understand and fix the problem

So where is the app? Three ways to find it

  1. click the SYC website Search icon and type something like "faults"
    website search
    or
  2. search for SYC Faults on Google or Bing
  3. or click this link!
