Starcross YC Junior Regatta
Now in its sixth year, the SYC August Junior Regatta is open to entrants from all Exe Estuary clubs and features a range of off-the-water fun activities to supplement the racing. We are very pleased to announce that the SYC Junior Regatta has been selected as an RYA Junior Club Championship qualifying event as part of the 2027 series.

When will it be?
Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd August 2026 - see SYC home page or Y&Y website to find out what we did last year.
What's it all about?
Three days of racing and fun on the River Exe. Not to be missed!
Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions
NORSI will be published nearer the event for downloading. Other nearby clubs will be informed.
The Competitors ...
All children from age 8 on April 1 to age 18 on 31 August, sailing a boat of PY 1136 and above (i.e. an Aero 5 and anything slower). Club boats are available for SYC members.
In previous years we have had entries from sailors aged 8 right up to 18, and nearly 50 boats.
The Racing ...
Split into Gold and Silver fleets - the Silver fleet has coaches in RIBs to provide support and encouragement for those new to racing and is suitable for everybody who is Stage 2-3 standard or above.
The Gold Fleet is more competitive (and lots of fun as well!).
More details about the format of racing will be in the Notice of Race.
The Extras ...
It's not all about the racing! Fun and games, on and off the water, are organised around the racing times. In previous years we've had Tug of War, water fights, an afternoon's trip to the beach at Dawlish Warren for sandcastle building, and "climb a Topper mast".
Food is available all weekend, with a big party on Saturday evening. The bar does a roaring trade for parents...
Camping is available throughout the Regatta, and loads of people camp on the Saturday night.
The Prizes ...
There will be lots.....
We have some very generous sponsors.
