Congratulations to crew Lucy Loughton of SYC and helm Chris Bateman of Monkstown Bay Sailing Club on taking first place at the Sydney 2025 B14 World Championships in Squirrel, with Tony Blackmore and Jamie Dawson, both of SYC, placed 8th in Admiral's Bunk.
The Championships were held from 5th to10th January at Woollahra Sailing Club, against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour, and in weather which
would not have been out of place in Devon in 2024 - except that this time it was a cool, gusty southerly wind that joined with the rain to keep the fleet ashore for some of the time and made for sometimes difficult conditions afloat. But for a far better account than your humble SYC website scribe can cobble together, be sure to read Tony Blackmore's account of Day 4, told in his own inimitable style - there's the Tony we know!
