An SYC members' work party is planned for Saturday 3 August, starting at 10am and finishing in time for lunch.
SYC work parties offer members the opportunity to make an entirely voluntary hands-on contribution to the upkeep of our lovely riverside site while getting to know other sailors with similar interests.
On the grounds that members like to work alongside others with similar interests, we particularly invite Dinghy and Yacht Cruisers to provide the workforce on this occasion (Racers will have their own day at the end of September), but any Club member is welcome to join any work party, whenever. Many hands make light work.
The job list for Saturday has not yet been finalised, but two things remain certain. One, there will always be a role for those willing to grab a barrow and shovel in order to clear shingle from the shore and transfer it to the pathways round the dinghy park. Two, vegetation is rampant just now and we are grateful to anyone bringing garden tools (but no strimmers please) to keep the site neat and tidy.
