The time has come for me and my crewman to retire gracefully from dinghy sailing and I am looking for a new owner to give her the love and attention that we have lavished on her for the last 20 odd years. Being a former Royal Marine and knowing your area, I know that your sailing club used to race SeaFly dinghies and that some still exist amongst your members and thought one might be looking for such a dinghy.

The SeaFly 460, is we think about 30-40 years old and has been used, over the last fifteen years, by two men with a total age of 175 years and has been adapted to cope with their advanced years. The dinghy was used for many years cruising along the Purbeck Coast.
Now has come the time for us to give up sailing after many years, so we finish on top of the waves and, not beneath them. The modifications consist of removing the bottom panel out of the main sail, which is in excellent condition, making it easier to get under the boom when tacking, or gybing, installing a bilge pump and fitting external grablines should the need arise to recover a crew member. The jib uses a roller reefing unit and both sails are in excellent and well-maintained condition. The mast having been replaced, together with all standing rigging, the boom and standing rigging were fitted about 2013. New high-quality, fully legal, Combi-trailer purchased about four years ago. The road section of the trailer is fitted with a winch. The dinghy with its trailer has been stored most years from Autumn to Spring in a weatherproof heated garage alongside a classic car. The dinghy’s all-weather cover was manufactured by a company called ‘Rain and Shine’ and is of the highest quality. When sailing in and around Swanage Bay we have used a VHF Radio and the call sign ‘Custard Tart’ to communicate with HMCG, NCI and Swanage Sailing Club.
Custard Tart is the ideal family boat and suitable for all ages particularly younger people learning to sail.
The asking price, full lock stock and barrel is £2,500
