Boat jumble sale - Saturday 28th September

Would there be interest for a boat jumble sale at the club in the autumn? I am happy to organise.  The sellers get some cash back from stuff they no longer need and the club gets a percentage for its coffers.

Definitely! As a cruiser owner I have some spare stuff I would be pleased to find a good home for.

Good idea - I have some stuff I'd be pleased to move along to someone who needs it - dinghy fittings, mostly. 

Great for the feedback and will now find date in the Autumn - probably a Sunday after morning racing.  I'll explore options and crack on with the idea

This date will have a working party and a dinghy cruise taking place so there should be a few of us around for a boat jumble.

I will draft up a poster for the website and also see if we can get a few up in the clubhouse.

The way it will work is as follows:-

Boat jumble to include boat bits and bobs from cruisers to dinghies, sailing clothes, sailing related books (fiction and non-fiction) magazines and all things sailing related

Sellers of jumble will place tag on their item for the price they want it to be sold.  10% of the sale will go to the Club.

Monies to the sellers will be distributed at the end of the sale.

There will also be a trug set to one side for collecting old and scrap rope.  This will be donated to Shepreth Wildlife Park, Royston. This small wildlife centre wants old rope for the animals to play with including the big cats as an enrichment for them or for enhancing their enclosures.
