Experience

Hi,

I'm relatively new to the club and I'm currently seeking appropriate experience to help me get back into sailing. l have sailed in the past so I know the basics, but this was a while ago.

I'm also looking for anyone who would be interested in kayak trips out on the estuary. I have a kayak stored at the club and I'm keen to go explore.

Anyone interested or has suggestions please let me know.

Hi Matt, a warm welcome to SYC ! 

I think the best thing is for you to ping me an email [email protected] and I cam put you in touch with our Kayak section and the club’s racing Fleet Captains and Dinghy Cruise Captains . The club does also have a very friendly and active cruiser section but only in the summer and members are always happy to welcome someone to go for a sail with - something to think about for next year . Hope fully we can get you afloat sometime soon !

Hi Matt,

I'm out on the estuary by kayak fairly frequently - usually an hour or so either side of high or low tide (i.e. up or down estuary).

If you spot a not too windy day when you're free at those times, ping me an email at  www.starcrossyc.org.uk/all-club-officers/41-aidan-whiteley - as a happily retired person I can make weekdays as well as weekends.
