Club Mast - looks to be damaged was created by Mark Elkington
The mast spreaders look to be failing where they join the mast.  Its still upright at the moment but moving quite a bit in the gusts.

Tried to get to the club this morning. Impossible. Never seen Estuary Road so badly flooded in 35 years.assive puddles coming in from Red Lidge end, not prepared to risk it Kathy

Mark, I've been up to the club to sort the Anenometer today, Tuesday. I've had a look at the Mast all looks as it should from the ground. The spreaders are attached to the mast by a solid flexible polyurethane member glured into the spreader box section. This gives a degree of flexibility. It might look as though there is a "break"in the inboard end. The mast does move a bit in gusty weather due to having very little east and west staying, it being tricky to arrange, short of a stay in the grass in front. Any ideas how to stay ot for and aft would be greatly received.

Thanks Andy - I hadn't clocked that it was flexible connection for the crosstrees.  I was just being a nervous nellie worrying that something was going to break and take out our race camera, webcam, and the internet connection to Lympstone in one go :-).

Would a hefty bit of dyneema attached to front of each cross tree and tightened with a windlass limit the backwards movement?

Mark
