raceManager has moved

After eighteen months of work we have finally managed to move raceManager from the local computer in the racebox to a cloud server somewhere in Europe.  To enable this we needed to first install two fast, and reliable broadband connections, and then sort out the rats next of network wiring that had grown over the last 20 years or so, and then test all of the code on the new server.  Thanks to a lot of people this is all now done.  So starting from THIS SUNDAY (if we go sailing!),  raceManager will be running from the internet.

So what does this mean for OODs - well I hope ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  If I have done my job properly it should look and work exactly as it did when running on the PC in the cage. You might notice that it runs a little bit faster than it did before - and, no I don't understand that either!.

With two broadband connections, much improved local networking and a professional data center running our code, we believe this will be reliable and much easier to maintain.  However, we have put in place a procedure to switch back to the local installation of raceManager with a few minutes work - if we have a problem.
