Merlin spinnakers

Hi 

did someone say on another thread that someone is a clean sails ambassador and looking for wetsuits to be recycled? Can’t find it to know who it was or how to get hold of them. I have a load that are not worthy of selling, to donate!

Sorry, I've only just seen your message. Yes, Amelie is collecting sails and old wetsuits to send to relevant people who can repurpose, reuse, recycle the material under the banner of Clean Sailors UK. I think the club has ordered big buckets for the sails to go in, but I'm sure the odd wetsuit could be squeezed in too. IN the mean time, we'd be happy to meet you and take the old wetsuits off your hands. We live quite locally so let us know when you're heading to the club - week days or weekends. This weekend is out though as Amelie is at the ETs in Rutland.

Thank you that would be great. I have a hold-all of wetsuits ready to go. Happy to drop off, tomorrow or Thursday if you let me know an address or I can leave them in the members room (let me know when you’ll be down and I’ll try and avoid them hanging around for too long)

I am going to leave my unwanted sails in the members room on Sunday for recycling - 2 or 3 jibs and 1 or 2 spinnakers

Thanks so much, that's really kind of you! We will pop down this evening and collect them. Sorry we've not caught up with you as yet, Amelie has been very busy every weekend either at a sailing event or doing Ten Tors training.

I'll be dropping another jib and a bag with four spinnakers in the members room on thursday this week. Mary is very happy

I should say if anyone wants a Merlin/Fireball sized spinnaker as a spare for windy weather or bring a bit of spice to dinghy cruising - please send me a note here and I'll save you one. All of them are old, but are in pretty good condition with no holes and have plenty of life left in them if you are not interested in racing. Colours available are black, light blue, yellow and red.
